About Donna

I began my journey in municipal government in 2012, when I was elected to the Saint John Common Council to represent Ward 3. After nine years of experience and growth, I decided to run for Mayor of the City of Saint John.

I was honoured to be elected Mayor in 2021.

I am incredibly proud of the work I have done over the past 14 years, first as a councilor and most recently as Mayor.

Saint John is an incredible city with so much potential, and my leadership, vision, and commitment to teamwork have brought us through some of the toughest times in our history. But my work is not done. 

I believe my experience and accomplishments position me as the best choice for Mayor of the City of Saint John.

My consistent and steady leadership and commitment to ensuring a strong financial outlook will build on the foundation I have helped set for a thriving Saint John.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In my professional life, I was fueled by a strong commitment to social equity, particularly in addressing child poverty and supporting vulnerable populations.

With more than 30 years of volunteer service, my dedication to community building began when I volunteered on the Provincial District 8 Education Council. This drove my interest to get involved in City Council  - to supoort initiatives that build resilient neighborhoods, active transportation, climate action, and mental and physical wellness through accessible amenities and recreation.
